Our Story

Introduction!

Hello, we are Coi and Lan and we are the owners of Pho Pham! One of the first things you’ll notice when entering Pho Pham is the large mural that depicts our story. Calgary is an amazing city with such diversity of people, cultures and especially food and we wanted to share with you how we brought our food here.

In 1989 we were one of the many “boat people” who left Vietnam to escape war and poverty. We ended up in a refugee camp in Malaysia and were lucky enough to be accepted by the government of Canada in 1992. We both worked in various Vietnamese restaurants and after saving enough money we opened up our first restaurant in 2005. From the initial restaurant we expanded our business to multiple locations in both Edmonton & Calgary, named Pho Hoan Pasteur. Pho Pham is the evolution of our Pho Hoan Pasteur locations.

Calgary is a winter city so you’ll notice a lot of greenery and woods/materials that reflect our Vietnamese heritage & remind us of home. We want Pho Pham to be a relaxing, casual place where warm memories between friends and families are made. There’s nothing like sharing a warm bowl of pho or a savoury bowl of vermicelli on a cold day and we can’t wait for you to enjoy our food! We feel blessed and grateful that Canada has provided so much for our family and we only hope to give back by sharing our cuisine with you!
